What is eSIM and how does it work?

An eSIM is a SIM card that comes embedded in a device. A device with eSIM is able to download a network profile from a telecommunications provider, allowing it to use services such as voice calls, SMS, and mobile internet. The functions of an eSIM are exactly similar to a regular SIM, but without having to physically insert/remove a SIM card.

Who is eligible for Digi eSIM?

All Digi customers currently able to make a Change SIM request via Digi Store / Digi Store Express would be eligible for Digi eSIM.

What are the devices currently supported by Digi eSIM?

Currently, Digi eSIM is available for the following devices:

  •   Apple iPhone XS
  •   Apple iPhone XS Max
  •   Apple iPhone 11
  •   iPhone 11 Pro
  •   iPhone 11 Pro Max

iOS 12.2 or later is required to enable Digi eSIM

More devices will be made available in the future.

Which plans currently support eSIM?

eSIM is available for all Digi Postpaid, Digi Prepaid, & Digi Broadband customers.

Where can I get a Digi eSIM?

Digi eSIM is available at participating Digi Stores / Digi Store Express nationwide.

How much do I need to pay for Digi eSIM?

Digi eSIM is FREE for a limited time for all Digi Postpaid, Digi Prepaid, & Digi Broadband customers.

I am a Digi Postpaid user with a physical SIM. How do I get Digi eSIM?

Just walk-in to the nearest participating Digi Store / Digi Store Express and request for a SIM Replacement (Change SIM) for eSIM.

Note: eSIM is not immediately available for new Digi Postpaid Family registrations; simply request for a SIM Replacement after completing your registration.

I am a Digi Prepaid user with a physical SIM. How do I get Digi eSIM?

Just walk-in to the nearest participating Digi Store / Digi Store Express and request for a SIM Replacement (Change SIM) for eSIM.

Note: eSIM is not immediately available for new Digi Prepaid registrations; simply request for a SIM Replacement after completing your registration.

I am non-Digi user wanting to retain my phone number. How do I get Digi eSIM?

You must first complete your port-in/MNP process before you can apply for a Digi eSIM. Once your port-in is successful, you can now apply for a Digi eSIM via a SIM Replacement (Change SIM) request at zero charge.

How do I activate Digi eSIM?

Once you have completed your registration at the Digi Store / Digi Store Express, you will be shown a QR code for your device to scan. This QR code contains the unique SIM profile for your eSIM device.

Important note: As a security feature, the QR code provided is only valid for ONE scan. 

For iOS users:

  1. Connect your iPhone to a Wi-Fi connection
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap either Cellular or Mobile Data
  4. Tap Add Cellular Plan
  5. Scan the QR code provided

You will also receive the QR code in your designated email if you prefer to do your plan activation later.

Note: Your profile will begin downloading once you have scanned the QR code. The profile provisioning will be completed within minutes after the payment has been successfully completed.
